Cultural monument of the year 2014 – PHOENIX award

"The PHOENIX award assesses entities that have restored a cultural monument. The award is represented by a bronze statue of a mythical bird, Phoenix.“

The Cultural Monument of the Year contest is announced by the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic and its long-time partners are Slovenský plynárenský priemysel, a.s., and SPP Fund.

Fifteen buildings were enrolled in the jubilee tenth year of the Cultural Monument of the Year 2014 contest. The decision was made by a professional jury consisting of representatives of the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic, Monuments Board of the Slovak Republic, Slovenský plynárenský priemysel, a.s., SPP Fund, joint nominee of the SPP Fund and SPP, Faculty of Architecture of the Slovak University of Technology, Chamber of Architects, Chamber of Restorers and Association of Historical Towns and Villages of the Slovak Republic.

Bratislava 10 December (TASR) – On today's ceremony of the Phoenix award for restoring and renovating a national cultural monument for the year 2014, the Ministry of Culture of the Slovak Republic has rewarded the laureates. The Pracháreň bastion in Levoča can pride itself in receiving the title Cultural Monument of the Year 2014 as it has placed first in the jubilee, tenth year of the contest.
